(떠나야 할) 이쪽 언덕(감각 기관)도 없으며 (도달해야 할) 저쪽 언덕(감각 대상)도 없고 괴로워할 일도 없으며 도덕적 결함에서 벗어나 자유로운 사람, 그를 일러 바라문이라 하네.
He who has for him neither this shore (i.e. the sense bases) nor the other shore(i.e. the sense object), and who undistressed and free from moral defilements, - him Icall a brahmana.
